FESTIVAL LED SCREEN HIRE

ON TOUR EVENTS TALKS ''FESTIVAL LED SCREENS'' AND SHARES SOME USEFUL INFORMATION

HIRE A FESTIVAL LED SCREEN FROM LONDON'S LEADING LED SCREEN HIRE COMPANY

LED screen hire is becoming essential to outdoor events, and in particular festivals. Placed either side of a festival stage they can add to the overall performance, offer a crystal-clear viewing experience for those positioned a considerable distance from the stage, and can even be used to deliver important messages to the thousands in attendance.

Here at On Tour Events, we've invested heavily in the latest LED technology to give our clients industry-leading experience. But before we explain why you should choose us, let's take a look at what you need to consider when hiring an LED screen for a festival.

+CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIRING A LED SCREEN FOR FESTIVAL OR EVENT

The first aspect you need to consider is where there are going to be positioned. One of the most popular options is to include PA wings with your stage hire and suspend one LED screen from each side. However, you could also choose to use a LED video wall as a backdrop for live bands and artists depending on your budget.

You may also want to dot LED screens at strategic locations on-site to provide an improved viewing experience for your attendees and to relay important instructions, such as leaving the area at the end of the evening's performances.

Next, you've got to consider the role they are going to perform. Are they for broadcasting footage only? Or are they going to form integral parts of visual displays and lighting shows? If it's the former, you need to ensure you have the live camera feeds set up and ready to go. If it's the latter, you'll need a lighting director on board to choreograph these impressive lighting shows. Fortunately, we can do both for you. Just tell us what you need, and we'll take care of the rest.

You also need to consider resolution and brightness, which are measured in pixel pitch and nits, respectively. The lower the pixel pitch, the closer together the LED nodes are and the better the resolution is. It also means your attendees can get closer to the LED screen without being able to see those black lines in between nodes.

Nits are another crucial measurement because glorious sunlight is actually the worst enemy of low-quality LED screens. Therefore, as a festival organiser, you need to ensure you hire an LED screen with a nits value of at least 5,000 to ensure the screen can be seen no matter what is happening with the natural light.

Finally, you're going to need LED screens that can stand up to the test of the British elements. If your screens aren't at least IP 65-rated, then they are at risk or malfunctioning when they are exposed to continuous rain.

So with the considerations out of the way, it's worth just running through the many uses you might have for an LED screen at a festival.

+LED SCREEN STAGE ACCOMPANIMENTS

As mentioned, perhaps the most frequent use of high-quality LED screens for festivals is for accompanying the stage, either on each side of the main stage, or along the rear of the stage as a backdrop. They make excellent visual aids for artists and performers looking to integrate video footage or elaborate dynamic graphic patterns into their performance.

+BROADCAST LIVE FOOTAGE WITH LED SCREEN

Large-cap festivals have big crowds, meaning those at the back will have a less enjoyable view that those at the very front. However, you can remedy this by providing LED screens at strategic points. That way, the viewing experience will match the thrill of listening to those live performances in full flow.

+USE LED SCREENS AS DIGITAL SIGNAGE

Not all festivals are music or performance-related. But that doesn't mean that you might not need LED screens for digital signage that can deliver important information, such as health and safety protocols or directions/maps so that attendees can navigate their way to popular areas of the festival.

+GENERATE ADVERTISING REVENUES FROM KEY SPONSORS

Large festival crowds mean plenty of eyeballs that advertisers and sponsors will be keen to get in front of. However, printed advertising just doesn't grab attention, is inefficient, and is less eco-friendly. With just one LED screen, you can run several advertising campaigns throughout the day, and help the LED screen hire to pay for itself
