WE ARE ONE OF THE UK'S LEADING EXHIBITION STAGING & EQUIPMENT HIRE COMPANIES

Exhibitions are critical functions of the B2B world. In fact, many companies depend on them for new leads and sales. Whether you are playing the part of an exhibition host or you are planning to book a prominent spot on an event floorplan, you’ll likely need to invest in stage and rigging hire to ensure your event is a success.

Regardless of whether you need ceiling-bound truss structures for your lighting, or you need an indoor stage with PA wings for your main exhibition hall, there’s plenty to think about when it comes to hiring the equipment you’ll need.

+CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIRING EXHIBITION STAGING & RIGGING

As mentioned, the staging and rigging you hire will only form a part of your overall technical event production requirements. That’s why, in many ways, it makes sense to start here when assessing what you’re going to need for your exhibition.

+START WITH YOUR ADDITIONAL EVENT PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT NEEDS WHEN MAPPING OUT YOUR STAGING & RIGGING REQUIREMENTS

When you think about, some of your decisions regarding rigging specifically will be directly influenced by your vision for other pieces of technical event equipment such as your choices of event lighting fixtures.

The types of lights you choose will govern which type of truss you choose, how much of it you’ll need, and how it will be configured. If you’re putting together the exhibition as the host, you may need a few hundred metres of truss spread across an exhibition hall from which to suspend your lighting. By contrast, if you’ve booked a stand, then you might be looking for a ground-based truss structure for your stand’s spotlights.

You’ll have the same considerations for the sound equipment you’ve hired and whether you’re investing in LED screen hire. In other words, it’s helpful to start with your other event equipment hire choices and reverse engineer your staging and rigging needs from there.

+FACTOR IN THE CONSTRAINTS OF YOUR CHOSEN VENUE OR SPACE

Obviously, the size, scale, and nature of your venue are all going to have a bearing on your stage and rigging requirements. Most exhibitions take place in purpose-built venues, but that isn’t always the case. We’ve helped put together exhibitions in usual locations such as country mansions!

With purpose-built venues such as the NEC or the ExCeL in London, most of our “off the shelf” stage solutions will work a treat. However, for unconventional locations, it may be the case that you need to work with our team to come up with a custom stage design.

On the other side of the coin, if you have booked a stand for an industry exhibition, then you need to always keep the space restrictions in mind. It’s no good hiring a state-of-the-art tiered stage platform if it bleeds well outside of your allocated stand footprint. So it’s something to keep in mind throughout the hiring process.

EXHIBITION STAGING & RIGGING HIRE

+CONSIDER THE NATURE OF THE EVENT

With stage hire and associated rigging requirements, it’s very much a case of horses for courses for your exhibition event. For instance, if you’ve decided that you are going to have a main arena with a central focal point stage for speakers and industry panellists, then going for a large, multilevel stage complete with PA wings and LED screens makes sense.

However, if you’re running a fashion exhibition and you might want your stage to extend out into two parallel catwalks which reconvene 100 metres from the stage to create a hollow square format within which you can place VIP seats. In other instances, you may not require a conventional stage. It’s all about deciding what is appropriate for your event.

+REMEMBER STAGING EQUIPMENT EXTENDS BEYOND THE MAIN ATTRACTION

Many event organisers forget that hiring staging equipment isn’t just about accommodating your main attractions housed on the main stage. In most instances, the clients we work with require a stage for their audience too. Elevated seating gives everyone a great view of what’s happening and creates better acoustics if used in an auditorium-style format. It’s small but significant touches like this that can help you to secure positive client feedback.

Taking an all-encompassing approach to your requirements applies to your rigging too. Yes, your initial focus when it comes to rigging and truss structures may be on your lighting requirements, but don’t forget you’ll need the same equipment from which to suspend your PA line arrays and LED screens.
