ON TOUR EVENTS TALKS PROJECTOR HIRE LONDON AND SHARES SOME USEFUL INFORMATION
HIRE A PROJECTOR FOR YOUR EVENT FROM LONDON'S LEADING AUDIO VISUAL HIRE COMPANY ON TOUR EVENTS
The traditional projector and screen combo has been around for decades, and the technology they use has dramatically improved as time has worn on. You may fondly recall the overhead projectors you grew up with, but we’ve certainly moved on since then. What hasn’t changed is their practicality, their ease of use, and their effectiveness.
Projectors are firm favourites in the industry for reasons beyond the force of habit. When used correctly, they can bring your event to life.
That's why we offer a range of projectors in stunning full HD resolution for you to ensure the best possible visual output for your event. Our hire fleet consists of only the best brands and are almost always better than the venue projector.
How, you ask? Let us tell you!
WHY HIRE A PROJECTOR FOR YOUR EVENT?
The increase in popularity of LED screens and LED video panels may make it seem like projectors are on the edge of becoming obsolete. However, you can do more with projectors than you might at first think (and they’re much cheaper than hiring an entire LED video wall!).
The primary reason so many event organisers (conference events in particular) continue to use projectors is their versatility. The technology involved with projecting has progressed in leaps and bounds over the years, allowing modern-day projectors to become some of the most commonly used visual aids.
For instance, they aren’t as prone to overheating as they used to be, giving you more options for projector positioning. They are also easy to set up, can be placed in several different locations within your chosen venue, and in general, give you a bit more flexibility than a TV or LED video wall.
They are also incredibly interoperable. What that means in layman's terms is that they can work well with lots of other technology. Modern LED projectors (or an LCD projector if you prefer) factor in working with HDMI output(s), VGA cables, and other media sources. Cutting edge models can use a laser light source. Not many other AV items boast the same size of credentials and range.
They also fit seamlessly into your wider event production. For example, they can be paired with PA systems, DVD players (sometimes you might need an HDMI to VGA adaptor), and any other production equipment requirements you may have.
You can even use a projector for outdoor projection should the weather be conducive enough, and projection mapping has cemented its position within the events industry (particularly for exhibitions and trade shows) for years to come.
Projectors are advantageous when you need something a little bigger than a large TV screen without incurring the expense of professional LED video panels. And since they are easy to connect to laptops or desktop computers, projectors are the perfect tool to display informative presentations or slideshows.
For example, they are often used in educational settings as helpful teaching/presentation aids for children of all ages and right up to adult education. Alternatively, if you plan on hosting a live stream, you might consider using a projector as a presentation aid. Don’t forget home cinema night either.
Lastly, there are popular in corporate and business environments. They are easy for people to source, set up, and operate for an important presentation, investors pitch, or quarterly projections. Better still, hiring any projector size for a meeting room is very cost-effective, with hire prices and delivery charges a fraction of alternative options.
CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIRING A PROJECTOR?
Obviously, before you hire any piece of equipment, you want to do a bit of due diligence to ensure it’s a good fit for your event. With thousands of events under our belt, we know what works and what doesn’t.
Different spaces and event types (such as conferences and exhibitions) will require different projector and screen set-ups to be their most effective and ensure you get the best value for money. So let’s take a look at what will go into your considerations.
ASSESS YOUR VENUE BEFOREHAND
Your venue plays a significant role in determining how your equipment setup will look and function. You may need to visit your venue beforehand to ensure that a projector is a viable option.
There are a few critical aspects to factor in. Firstly, projectors (specifically the bulb) can get extremely hot while running. Thus they require a well-ventilated spot for positioning purposes.
Secondly, they need to be a certain distance away from the projection surface to work correctly. Most basic projector models have a zoom lens which gives you a bit of wiggle room, and larger conference projectors come with interchangeable lenses for even greater flexibility. But it’s something you need to be thinking about all the same.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT PROJECTOR FOR YOUR EVENT
To ensure that your event attendees have the best possible viewing experience, you need to hire as bright a projector as your budget allows. The brightness of projector screens is one of the most significant factors that influence their performance. When looking at lumens, we recommend 5,000 as a minimum, but it’s a case of the more, the merrier!
Unfortunately, most venue projector offerings will fall short of these metrics, usually as a result of the cost of projection equipment. Prices start in the thousands, and venues often can't justify the charges for high-resolution projection equipment.
This is especially the case if you plan on showing high-quality video footage or your venue is particularly extensive and well-lit.
Next, make sure you know what resolution the projector offers. To do your content justice and impress your audience, you really need to choose a full HD 1080p resolution projector. Fortunately, we’ve got plenty of these available on demand!
Lastly, pay attention to different aspect ratios. HD content requires a 16:9 aspect ratio, and lower resolution formats use a 4:3 aspect ratio. Your projector can do both, but it’s essential to match your content source aspect ratio with that of your projector (unless you actually like having those black bars on the top or side of your content).
HIRING ADDITIONAL AUDIO VISUAL EQUIPMENT
A projector would be pretty useless without a surface to project on to. If your venue doesn’t have screens already installed, or a perfectly smooth white wall, you will need to hire a screen and screen stand. To complete the visual aspect of your event, look into your options with our custom staging and set design, as well as event-specific lighting.
But stunning visuals will only get you so far – you need to hire high-quality audio equipment too! Sound equipment you should consider hiring includes PA speakers, microphones, and possibly a mixing desk if you’ve got plenty of mic’d up individuals on stage.
Your event may be small enough to work in our virtual streaming studio, which gives you the ability to show up and have everything already rigged, set up, and ready to go! Our venue is perfect for small conferences, hybrid events, business meetings, online educational courses, remote university classes, and much more.
CONSIDER HIRING AN LED SCREEN IF YOUR BUDGET ALLOWS
By now, you should see why projectors are excellent solutions for many events, but it’s essential to make sure that your projection gear is suitable for what you need. For instance, you may want to better service your major business conferences or exhibitions with a conference LED screen because they can be built on-location at a much grander scale.
They have the same HD capabilities but can make more of a visual impact within large venues.
